Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that agreements have been reached with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin regarding restrictions on the import of Armenian products to the Russian market. TASS reports this information.
According to Pashinyan, a number of agreements were reached during negotiations with the head of the Russian government. The head of the Armenian government did not disclose their content, stating that the results would become known after their practical implementation.
Pashinyan described his interaction with Mishustin as sincere and friendly.
On July 6, the Armenian delegation participated in the "Innoprom-2026" exhibition in Yekaterinburg. There, Pashinyan met with Mishustin. During the negotiations, he stated that Armenia would under no circumstances abandon cooperation with Russia, despite the "problematic issues" that have arisen in bilateral relations. In response, Mishustin noted that it is important for Yerevan to respect the rights of Russian investors.
Since the end of May, Russia has begun imposing bans on the import of goods from Armenia. In late May, "Rosselkhoznadzor" banned the import of flowers, and also restricted supplies of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, greens, and strawberries. From June 2, cherries, grapes, and live fish intended for export to Russia came under restrictions. On June 3, the department extended these measures to apples, pears, eggplants, potatoes, and dried fruits. On June 26, "Rosselkhoznadzor" expanded restrictions on fish product supplies from Armenia, suspending the certification of products from all enterprises in the republic until previously identified violations are rectified.
