Valuable property located in the center of Yerevan has been returned to the capital's municipality. This concerns the premises of Multi Wellness LLC, situated at 11 Alek Manukyan Street, which belonged to Gagik Tsarukyan.
For a week now, Tsarukyan’s major businesses have ceased operations, with the exception of the Araratcement plant. Operations there have resumed thanks to government intervention.
Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan was arrested last week. He is accused of large-scale fraud and money laundering.
The case is linked to an Iranian trade center project that failed some time ago. Law enforcement officials believe that Tsarukyan established a criminal group. Under the guise of establishing Iran-Armenia logistics links, they deceived Iranian companies.
According to the investigation, the group forged documents and embezzled vehicles, equipment, and goods. The damage caused amounts to approximately 22 million dollars. For his part, Tsarukyan maintains that he is the victim in this matter.
