Landslide activity escalates dangerously on Tsaghkadzor’s Mher Mkrtchyan Street

A highly dangerous escalation of landslide activity has been recorded at the start of Pahlavunyats Street and the parallel Mher Mkrtchyan Street in the Tsaghkadzor community. The situation requires immediate professional intervention to prevent potential future collapses and hazards.

During its October 1 session, the Government of Armenia adopted a decision to immediately carry out precise mapping of the landslide mass, along with a comprehensive slope stability calculation that accounts for the physical and mechanical properties of the soil and the impact of groundwater. Additionally, experts will develop proposals and designs for anti-landslide engineering measures aimed at slope reinforcement.

The activation of landslide processes in Tsaghkadzor serves as a serious signal for ensuring infrastructure safety. The swift development and implementation of engineering projects for slope stabilization will make it possible to prevent further complications.

It is particularly important that the planned calculations take into account the effect of groundwater, which is often one of the main causes of such landslides. Further developments will reveal how quickly the proposed solutions will be put into effect.
