Drones have reportedly targeted the Omsk oil refinery for the first time, according to Ukrainian Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+, as reported by Meduza.
Omsk Governor Vitaly Khotsenko initially reported a "drone threat" and later wrote on his Telegram channel that "enemy drones were shot down" over the region. According to him, several drones "managed to reach Omsk's northern industrial hub."
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced that Ukrainian drones struck the Omsk oil refinery, located 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine's border. "Agentstvo," after analyzing published videos, confirmed that the Omsk oil refinery is indeed visible in the footage. The Ukrainian project Dnipro Osint claims the attack damaged primary oil processing equipment.
The Omsk oil refinery is the largest in Russia by crude processing volume. If the drone strike on this plant is confirmed, only one of Russia's top 10 refineries will remain untouched by Ukrainian drone attacks: the Angarsk Petrochemical Company in the Irkutsk region.
