The criminal case involving Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II and six bishops of the Supreme Spiritual Council has been officially transferred from the Armavir Region Court to the Yerevan Criminal Court.
The Judicial Department confirmed that the case files have already been received by the capital's court. It is not yet known which judge will be assigned to the case, as the relevant information is not currently available.
The transfer of cases between courts is standard procedure; however, given the status of the parties involved, this move has drawn significant attention. Such shifts in legal proceedings are often due to changes in jurisdiction or court caseloads.
It is expected that the case will be assigned to a judge, after which it will be possible to discuss a preliminary schedule for court hearings. At this stage, it is important to monitor what procedural steps the parties will take following the case's arrival in Yerevan.
