An emergency incident occurred in Yerevan on September 27. At around 12:50, patrol officers from the 2nd platoon of the 4th battalion of the Yerevan city regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Patrol Service, led by battalion commander Davit Nikoghosyan and platoon commander Vladimir Derdzyan, while on duty on Myasnikyan Avenue near the Belaggio restaurant complex, noticed that cars were driving around a swan that was wandering on the road.

According to a photojournalist, the swan belongs to the Yerevan Zoo. How the swan named "Tata" managed to get out of its enclosure is something that, according to the report, should concern Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan.

This incident, seemingly amusing at first glance, raises a real problem. The inhabitants of the Yerevan Zoo are behind walls and enclosures, and their appearance on a central city street indicates gaps in oversight. This time everything was limited to slowed traffic, but such a situation could have taken a more dangerous turn, both for the animal and for drivers.

The question of responsibility also arises. The swan is the property of the zoo, so the reasons for its escape from the enclosure must be clarified. How the swan named "Tata" ended up on Myasnikyan Avenue remains an open question.

For city authorities, this is a signal to check not only this one enclosure, but also the zoo's overall security system. Such incidents are rare, but they are precisely what shows where weak links exist.
