The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is discussing the parliamentary elections held in Armenia. The discussion addresses both the electoral process and the external pressure exerted on it, as well as the decisions of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC).

Various assessments have been presented at the Assembly. In particular, it was noted that the elections took place in a complex political environment, and that certain forces attempted to influence the process. At the same time, it was emphasized that the CEC made a number of decisions that were essential to shaping the election results.

Participants in the discussion stressed the importance of transparency and legality in electoral processes, as well as the role of international observers. It was noted that further steps should be aimed at strengthening democratic institutions.

Armenian representatives also made comments, presenting their position on what took place.

PACE's discussion shows that Armenia's electoral processes continue to remain in the focus of international attention. This is an important signal for both domestic political stability and external relations.

Talk of external pressure is drawing serious reactions, as it can affect perceptions of the elections' legitimacy. On the other hand, the CEC's decisions must be public and substantiated so that no doubts arise.

In the next steps, it is important to follow how events will develop and whether the parties will be able to form a common statement.
