Turkey and Azerbaijan have signed a series of major contracts for the supply of defense industry products, as well as a corresponding memorandum of understanding.
The total financial value of the signed documents exceeds $500 million, according to Haluk Görgün, President of the Defense Industry Agency of Turkey. He stated that the agreements provide for the delivery of various types of modern aviation, unmanned, radar, and missile systems to Azerbaijan.
Leading companies in the Turkish defense industry are participating in the deals. Specifically, TUSAŞ signed a contract for the delivery of HÜRKUŞ aircraft. A memorandum of understanding was signed with ASELSAN regarding ALP-100 radar systems. Additionally, BAYKAR is preparing to transfer Mızrak loitering munitions and the Antidot system to Azerbaijan, while ROKETSAN signed a contract for the supply of the Barbaros coastal defense system.
Görgün emphasized that these new agreements will significantly contribute to further strengthening the defense capabilities of both countries.
The package of military contracts signed between Turkey and Azerbaijan reflects the deepening process of military-technical cooperation between the two nations. The deals, exceeding $500 million, encompass strike and reconnaissance unmanned assets as well as radar and coastal defense systems.
These supplies substantially enhance the technological capabilities of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces. For Turkish defense companies, this also represents a major export order, reinforcing Ankara's role in the regional arms market.
