Tesla Shows Off Roadster Capable of Flying and Performing Midair Flips

American company Tesla has unveiled its electric Roadster sports car, which jumped over an obstacle during testing while performing a full rotation in midair, then climbed a curved ramp and jumped back down to the ground.

The presentation took place at a SpaceX test site in Texas. During the demonstration, the car performed a series of unusual stunts.

The Roadster climbed a curved ramp and ended up upside down before jumping back down to the ground. A special fan system that generates downforce helped the car stay on the ramp even when its wheels were facing upward.

The car also cleared an obstacle while completing a full rotation around its axis in midair, then landed on its wheels.

"I've seen a lot of things, but I've never seen anything like this," Tesla CEO Elon Musk said during the event.

The company plans to begin mass production of the Roadster in 2028.

The Roadster demonstration shows how far the combination of automotive engineering and technological spectacle can go. This is about more than just speed or an electric motor: the car performed stunts that also require specialized technical solutions.

However, demonstration capabilities are not necessarily the same as the features of a car designed for everyday use. Mass production is scheduled for 2028, and until then, it will be important to understand which of the demonstrated systems will be retained in the production version and how much the car's design and capabilities may change. For now, the demonstration's results and the planned production timeline are known, but the final model's appearance remains unclear.
