The Armenian government will allocate 3 billion 140 million drams to the Ministry of Economy to fulfill obligations incurred during June within the framework of export support programs. This was reported by Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan during a government session.
According to the minister, the government adopted a support program at the beginning of June aimed at diversifying markets. This program provides financial assistance to exporters of Armenian-origin greenhouse products, fresh fruits, and certain types of food and beverages.
The decision's purpose is to fulfill the obligations towards exporters that arose in June as a result of the programs. “They have exported, and we must now provide them with financial assistance. To implement the measure and fulfill the obligations incurred in June, it is necessary to compensate a total of 3 billion 140 million drams,” the minister emphasized.
The amount is intended for two initiatives. 605 million 283 thousand drams will be allocated to support the export of certain greenhouse products. 2 billion 535 million 150 thousand drams will be provided to support the export of fresh fruits, certain types of food, and beverages.
In June, within the framework of greenhouse production support, approximately 208 tons of tomatoes, 784 tons of bell peppers, 109 tons of strawberries, and 4 million 69 thousand flowers were exported.
Under the second initiative, approximately 2948 tons of apricots, 1402 tons of cherries, 1 ton of plums, 1.5 million liters of bottled natural mineral water, 230 thousand liters of bottled grape wine, and 1.3 million liters of bottled Armenian brandy (calculated at 100% alcohol) were exported.
The adoption of this project will enable the compensation of eligible expenses for exported fruits, vegetables, flowers, bottled natural mineral water, bottled grape wine, and Armenian brandy or cognac.
