2.1 Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Southwest of Aparan, Felt in Aragatsotn Province

On July 9, at 11:42 local time, the seismic network of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) Territorial Service for Seismic Protection registered a 2.1 magnitude earthquake.

The earthquake's epicenter was located 18 km southwest of Aparan city, at a depth of 10 km, according to information provided by the MIA's Rescue Service.

The intensity of the underground tremor in the epicentral zone measured 2-3 on the Richter scale.

The earthquake was felt with a magnitude of 2 in the city of Ashtarak in Aragatsotn Province, as well as in the villages of Agarak, Byurakan, Karbi, Apnagyugh, and Aragats.
