Armenia has received official authorization to export frozen and processed fish products to European Union countries, Armtimes reports.

Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan noted during a cabinet meeting that this is a strategically important step. The work began back in 2026, in compliance with the requirements of the European Food Safety Authority.

To export to the EU, fish farms must be registered in the European Union's Trade Control and Expert System. They must also meet all European technical standards.

The registration process will be carried out by the Food Safety Inspection Body. According to the Minister, the procedure will be simple and transparent.

There are already five companies in Armenia that wish to export their products to the EU. They are awaiting registration approval.
