The State Revenue Committee (SRC) has uncovered a scheme involving the import of aviation kerosene, Factor reports. The criminal transactions resulted in approximately 870 million drams in damages to the state.
The SRC’s Investigation Department determined that an individual identified as R.K. established nine companies using proxy persons. These entities imported large quantities of aviation fuel into Armenia from Iran, selling the fuel without the required accounting documentation.
Three of the companies failed to submit any tax reports, while the other six filed distorted data. Through these methods, they evaded large-scale tax payments.
The Investigative Committee has initiated criminal proceedings regarding the case. Pre-trial investigations are ongoing, with authorities working to identify all members of the criminal group.
The SRC urges business entities to honestly declare their actual turnover. Although Gagik Tsarukyan's name is not mentioned in the statement, the described transactions resemble episodes from the case brought against him.
