Aravot — A video circulating online showing a group of men brutally beating Avet Konjoryan, the brother of Hayk Konjoryan, head of the Civil Contract faction in the National Assembly, has caught the attention of law enforcement. The Investigative Committee has launched criminal proceedings, leading to the arrest of two individuals, including Nairi Hakobyan, a member of the Civil Contract faction of the Abovyan City Council.

The background of the incident traces back to the "Milon Mining" company, where Avet Konjoryan was employed. The company's owner, Babken Hovakimyan, states that he had hired Konjoryan upon the recommendation of Nairi Hakobyan himself, appointing him as the director of the "Milon Realty" company. However, it later emerged that Konjoryan had been embezzling funds by overcharging buyers during apartment sales and failing to deposit cash into the company's accounts. According to the company's lawyer, Lavrent Harutyunyan, the damage caused exceeds $100,000, and the fraud was uncovered by Nairi Hakobyan himself.

Babken Hovakimyan notes that he attempted to inform Hayk Konjoryan about the incident, but the MP refused to get involved in his brother's affairs. In 2025, Avet Konjoryan was dismissed from his job, but the tension did not subside. Nairi Hakobyan's father, Samvel Hakobyan, claims that after the dismissal, Avet Konjoryan repeatedly visited their home yard at night, using profanities and provoking his son, creating an explosive situation.

Currently, Nairi Hakobyan is in custody, and his defense attorney, Abgar Poghosyan, reports that his client has not yet been formally charged.
