On August 12, a tragic incident occurred in Yerevan. Around 14:55, the Shengavit division received information that an ambulance team had transported a man from Garegin Nzhdeh Square to Erebuni Medical Center with a diagnosis of polytrauma.
Police officers from the Shengavit division who arrived at the hospital ascertained that the person transported was 57-year-old Russian Federation citizen Andrel B. A few hours later, the man died in the intensive care unit without regaining consciousness.
Police officers also established that on the same day, around 14:00, the man was at the upper section of the underground passageway of the Garegin Nzhdeh station of the Yerevan Metro, from where he fell from a height of about 10 meters. However, his life could not be saved at the hospital.
In connection with the incident, documents were drawn up in the Shengavit division and transferred to the Shengavit Administrative District Investigative Department of the Yerevan City Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee.
Crucial for the subsequent assessment of the incident is the fact that the materials were transferred to the relevant unit of the Investigative Committee. The information published at this stage describes the main circumstances of what happened, but does not provide complete answers to the questions that may arise regarding the causes of the incident and the conditions of the fall.
Falling from a height of about 10 meters is associated with severe injuries, and precisely for this reason, the man's condition remained critical after being transported to the hospital. At the same time, conclusions should not be drawn about the cause of the incident from the published data until the relevant studies and investigation clarify the circumstances. The most important thing here is that subsequent information must be based on data established by the investigation.
