Trump Announces New US Military Strikes Against Iran

2 Min Read

US President Donald Trump has announced that American forces are striking Iranian targets near the Strait of Hormuz. According to Trump, the move is a response to two Iranian actions: a failed attempt to lay naval mines in the Strait of Hormuz, and eight rockets fired toward a US military base in Jordan, which he said were all intercepted.

At the same time, Trump warned that in the event of a possible Iranian retaliatory strike, the US would respond immediately with a "much larger and more powerful" blow. Moreover, he declared that the biggest attack is still ahead, and that as a result, "very little" would remain of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Beyond the purely military statement, Trump's warning raises the question of whether the wave of strikes is indeed aimed at Iran's military infrastructure, or is a broader signal that could reshape the entire security environment of the region in the coming days. Will the Iranian side, of course, respond? This is the main unknown that could either push the situation toward open military confrontation or, conversely, open a diplomatic path. The fact is that the US administration is clearly abandoning any restraint, and the further course of events will depend on the nature of Tehran's response.
