,The delimitation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan could later turn into routine technical work, Republic of Armenia Minister of Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan stated on Public Television.
According to him, once the parties definitively agree on all maps and procedures, as well as clarify the necessary guidelines and documents, subsequent delimitation work will be carried out by specialists rather than deputy prime ministers. The Foreign Minister emphasized that the most difficult phase is already in the past, as the foundational document has been ratified in both countries.
In addition, Ararat Mirzoyan noted that information regarding the supply of goods from Armenia to Azerbaijan will become known in the coming days. He also added that Russia expressed readiness to discuss details of restoring the Yeraskh-Nakhchivan and Akhuryan-Turkey border sections of the railway.
The ratification of the delimitation regulations and transferring the process to a technical level are important steps toward reducing border tensions. When fundamental principles and maps are already agreed upon, political decisions are replaced by the dry calculations of geodesists and expert teams.
At the same time, the restoration of regional transport routes and the potential launch of commodity turnover demonstrate parallel efforts to take practical steps toward economic unblocking. Subsequent developments will clarify the extent to which the parties succeed in carrying out technical delimitation work on the ground without new political disagreements.
