The Investigative Committee reported that the man systematically inflicted severe physical pain and mental suffering on his wife between July 2025 and April 2026.
The investigation revealed that on April 24, 2026, during yet another argument, the man pushed his wife out of a moving car, causing her to sustain severe injuries. All of these incidents took place in the presence of their 4-year-old daughter, inflicting severe mental suffering on the young child as well.
Public criminal prosecution has been initiated against the man under articles covering the infliction of severe physical or mental suffering and causing severe harm to health. He faces multiple counts.
Detention was selected as a preventive measure against him. The criminal proceedings, along with the indictment, have already been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor.
The Investigative Committee also reminds that a suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty by a legally binding court verdict.
This case of domestic violence is particularly shocking because the violence occurred right in front of a young child, subjecting her to severe psychological trauma as well.
The law enforcement system's decision to detain the suspect and swiftly forward the case to the prosecutor demonstrates a strict stance on such crimes. However, the situation once again highlights the urgent need for mechanisms to prevent violence occurring behind closed doors and to protect victims.
