AI Operates Humanoid Robot in Unfamiliar Kitchen Without Prior Training

2 Min Read

A new artificial intelligence system has successfully guided a humanoid robot through an entirely unfamiliar kitchen without any prior additional training.

To restore order to the kitchen, the robot had to make independent decisions. It correctly determined which items to keep, which were suitable to throw away, and how to safely move each object to its proper place. Powered by the HomeBody system, the robot gathered all the coffee bags in the middle of the table and discarded cartons of spoiled milk and orange juice into the trash. Throughout the process, the device performed numerous movements, repeatedly picking up and placing various items.

As it moved around the room, the robot's field of view changed with every step. Thanks to a specialized memory and feedback system, the AI accurately tracked completed tasks and pinpointed those that still required attention.

The application of artificial intelligence in domestic robotics is gradually moving beyond experimental stages. The ability to navigate an unfamiliar environment without preliminary training shows that the technology is approaching practical everyday use.

Robots typically require prior spatial mapping or specific algorithms. In this case, combining memory with real-time visual feedback ensured seamless operation. Notably, the system was able not only to recognize objects but also to execute multi-step instructions, sorting usable goods from spoiled products.

The next crucial phase will involve testing the response speed of such systems and their ability to self-correct errors in complex situations.
