Viva has announced the launch of Armenia's first and only 5G+ network, News.am reports. The network is now operational in Yerevan, as well as in cities across the Shirak, Lori, Tavush, Gegharkunik, Kotayk, and Aragatsotn regions. By the end of the year, Viva plans to make 5G+ connectivity available in all cities across Armenia, with plans to expand to rural areas subsequently.
5G+ surpasses traditional 5G not only in speed but also by providing innovative digital services essential for artificial intelligence, real-time data processing, and virtual reality technologies. This network is set to become the foundation for the development of the digital economy and smart cities.
According to Viva General Manager Armen Avetisyan, the introduction of this network will improve both the lives of residents and the efficiency of businesses. The company has also prepared a special offer: from July 14 to August 14, new subscribers will receive 50 GB of internet.
Nokia supported the network's deployment in Yerevan, while Ericsson assisted with the rollout in the regions. This technological capability was made possible through significant investments in the acquisition of radio spectrum. Additionally, Ookla has awarded Viva the title of Armenia's fastest mobile network for the first half of 2026.
