In accordance with Article 158 of the Constitution, the Government has submitted its resignation as the newly elected National Assembly convenes for its first session. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already signed the relevant document, which has been forwarded to the President of the Republic.
The formal resignation procedure dictates that the incumbent ministers and other government members will continue to perform their duties until a new cabinet is formed. According to the law, following parliamentary elections, the President must immediately appoint the candidate proposed by the parliamentary majority as Prime Minister.
