The Prosecutor General's Office had applied to the Anti-Corruption Court on March 18, 2025, demanding the termination of an individual's construction right over a 201.6 sq m land plot located at 1/61 Independence Street in Ijevan, with a cadastral value approximated to market value amounting to 1 million 377 thousand drams.
By its ruling of May 11, 2026, the Anti-Corruption Court granted the claim, and on August 25, the Cadastre Committee, based on the application of the Prosecutor General's Office, officially terminated that right, resulting in the plot being returned to the Ijevan community.
With this decision, 16 land plots have now been returned to community ownership, all located within the city park area, including various addresses on Independence, Theater, and Valance streets, with areas ranging from 12 sq m to 1500 sq m. In addition, thanks to prosecutorial action, a 0.03-hectare plot adjacent to the park's fountains was also returned to the community.
This ruling is notable not only because another land plot is being returned to the community, but also because it reinforces the consistency of state bodies in the anti-corruption sphere. It is important that the court granted the claim and the process was concluded without protracted delays.
The question arises: is the return of these 16 plots sufficient for the full restoration of the park, or are there still similar lands awaiting return? It is clear that the Ijevan community now has greater opportunities to manage and develop its green zone, which directly affects the quality of leisure for citizens.
