National Assembly Vice President Vahagn Aleksanyan and three other deputies will travel to Tanzania in October to participate in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. This decision was confirmed by an order signed by NA Vice Speaker Ruben Rubinyan.
The delegation includes Civil Contract faction deputies Tsovinar Vardanyan and Hasmik Hakobyan, as well as Strong Armenia faction deputy Garnik Davtyan.
The deputies will be in the city of Arusha, Tanzania, from October 3 to 10. During this time, they will participate in the assembly's sessions and discussions.
The participation of these four deputies in the Tanzania assembly is notable not only for the geographical distance but also for the composition of the delegation; a representative of the opposition Strong Armenia faction is also included. This may signal the necessity for unified parliamentary representation on international platforms, although no official details regarding the assembly's agenda or the delegation's priorities have been released yet.
The Inter-Parliamentary Union is an important platform for discussing global and regional issues, and Armenia's involvement can be beneficial for both strengthening bilateral ties and reinforcing its position on the international agenda.
