Future Technologies in Hong Kong: 120 Robots to Showcase Their Capabilities

Four major technology exhibitions will be held in Hong Kong in October, bringing together around 6,200 exhibitors from 28 countries and regions. They will showcase new solutions in electronics, artificial intelligence, robotics, smart lighting and other fields of the future.

From October 13 to 16, the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre will host the Hong Kong Electronics Fair and electronicAsia, featuring more than 3,200 exhibitors. One of the main attractions will be RoboPark, with more than 120 robots demonstrating commercial, industrial, logistics, entertainment, healthcare and rehabilitation applications.

The exhibition will also feature humanoid robots, including developments by AgiBot, Shenzhen Honor Smart Technology, Booster Robotics and UBTECH. VIGX Technology will present a pocket-sized AI-powered exoskeleton robot.

The robots will not remain only in the exhibition halls. Visitors will see robot football matches, dance competitions and robotic dog demonstrations, while robot waiters will serve coffee and popcorn.

One of the exhibition's more than 20 themed zones will allow visitors to try virtual and augmented reality technologies, including brainwave-controlled sensors. The Future Industries zone will showcase solutions from more than 100 companies.

At the end of October, attention will turn to lighting. Around 3,000 exhibitors from more than 20 countries and regions will take part in the Hong Kong International Lighting Fair and the Outdoor and Tech Light Expo.

Hong Kong's events show how broad the range of robotics and artificial intelligence applications has become. These technologies are no longer limited to machines working in factories, as the same exhibitions will also showcase applications for services, healthcare, entertainment and urban environments. Robot waiters and football-playing machines are therefore less individual technology showcases than demonstrations of a wider range of possible applications.

It is also notable that other parts of the events focus on semiconductors, sensors, quantum technologies, smart lighting and energy-efficient urban solutions. This combination shows that the organizers present technological development as an interconnected set of fields, in which hardware, software solutions and infrastructure are gradually coming together in a single ecosystem.
