On September 10, at approximately 16:50, a serious traffic accident occurred at the 92nd kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri-Bavra highway, involving a collision between a GAZelle passenger minibus and a MAN truck. As a result of the impact, the GAZelle veered off the road and ended up partially overturned in a nearby water channel, posing a significant threat to the passengers.

Specialists from the Gyumri Medical Center arrived at the scene, provided first aid to one individual, and promptly transported them to the hospital, while the other victims, despite receiving necessary medical assistance, refused hospitalization. Patrol officers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Shirak region cordoned off the area to ensure safety until the investigative team completed their work.

A criminal proceeding has been initiated at the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee. Law enforcement officials are currently working to determine the circumstances of the accident, as well as to identify the drivers and the injured party.

This section of the Shirak region is known among drivers for its challenging terrain and high traffic intensity, which frequently leads to similar incidents. It is clear that the GAZelle landing in the water channel serves as a serious warning, highlighting the necessity of strictly adhering to road safety rules.

The primary task of the investigative team is now to determine whether a technical malfunction or a violation of traffic rules caused the accident. Given that criminal proceedings have been initiated, the parties responsible for the collision will become clear in the coming days.
