Russian Gas Supplies to Armenia to Be Temporarily Suspended

1 Min Read

From September 15 to 25, the supply of natural gas from Russia to Armenia will be temporarily suspended. This pause is due to planned preventive and repair work on the North Caucasus-Transcaucasia main gas pipeline.

Despite the suspension of pipeline operations, consumers in the republic will not experience a gas shortage. Gazprom Armenia assures that gas supply will continue without any restrictions. According to the company, the necessary volumes will be secured through the country's internal reserves, as well as additional gas imported from Iran.

This planned pipeline maintenance serves as a regular reminder of the importance of energy security diversification. This ten-day pause will be a test not only for the infrastructure but also for the reliability of supplies from Iran.

It is noteworthy that consumers will not face any issues thanks to existing internal reserves. In the coming days, it remains to be seen how the work in Russia progresses and whether the scheduled deadlines will be met for the next phases of gas supply.
