Law enforcement officers successfully prevented two grave crimes that had been planned for a specific monetary reward. Two residents of Metsamor, both with prior convictions for serious and particularly serious offenses, had agreed to take the lives of a Yerevan resident and a resident of Argavand village in Armavir Province in exchange for $5,000.
Officers from the Armavir Regional Department of the Criminal Police received operational intelligence regarding the criminal plots, allowing them to act before the murders could be carried out. As a result of operations conducted on November 6, three men directly linked to the preparations were arrested.
During a search of a BMW belonging to one of the suspects, a methadone solution was discovered, which may become the subject of an additional investigation. All collected materials and documents have been forwarded to the preliminary investigation body to clarify all circumstances of the case.
This incident once again underscores the critical importance of timely operational intelligence and swift action. The preparation of such serious crimes by previously convicted individuals demonstrates that law enforcement agencies remain on high alert to prevent dangerous developments of this nature.
Further investigation must determine the actual figures standing behind the contract, as organizing a hit for $5,000 often involves a broader network.
