An armed attack took place on November 7 in the Main Square of Krakow, Poland. Unknown individuals drove a car into the square, after which an armed man opened fire on people in the area.

Five people were killed in the shooting, while more than ten others sustained injuries of varying severity. Police officers were also among the injured.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk said he was receiving real-time updates from the interior minister about the situation in Krakow. According to him, police are investigating the circumstances and possible motives behind the attack.

The gunman was arrested at the scene. He sustained a gunshot wound during the exchange of fire and is now being taken to hospital.

Law enforcement authorities have not yet released the attacker’s identity, nationality or motives. Investigative operations are continuing at the scene.

The information currently available about the incident in Krakow does not provide a complete picture of the attack. The lack of information about the attacker’s identity and possible motives makes it difficult to understand what led to the violence and whether he acted alone. Answers to these questions are important not only for reconstructing the sequence of events but also for assessing potential threats.

The next important step will be the publication of the findings of the law enforcement investigation. Until then, it is necessary to distinguish confirmed information from circumstances that remain unclear, particularly given the fatalities and the large number of people injured.
