Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced disagreements with U.S. President Donald Trump.
"Yes, we have had disagreements periodically. He is the President of the United States and does what is good for the United States. I am the Prime Minister of Israel and I do what is important and good for Israel," Netanyahu stated on CNN.
Netanyahu emphasized that on most issues, the interests of Israel and the United States align. "On major issues, we are in agreement; from time to time, that doesn't happen, but we are true allies," he added.
In recent days, Israel has criticized Donald Trump's intention to lift the ban on selling F-35 fighter jets to Turkey. Netanyahu believes that this deal could undermine the balance of power in the region, adding that as a result, "Turkey will not become a friendly country for the United States."
