Transparent OLED Monitor Controlled by Touch-Free Gestures Unveiled for Smart Glasses

1 Min Read

A technology company has unveiled a new-generation augmented reality (AR) smart glasses featuring a fully transparent OLED display and microscopic special sensors.

The device is capable of accurately reading a person's tiny micro-movements of muscles, thanks to which the user can easily control the interface through light gestures made in the air.

The developers anticipate that this innovative device could fully replace smartphones in the future.

Attempts to end the smartphone era are nothing new, but touch-free control and transparent OLED displays could become a real breakthrough. The main problem faced by similar technologies is the accurate perception of muscle micro-movements amid everyday noise and random movements.

If successful, this will radically change the way humans and devices interact. The question is how prepared the consumer market will be to abandon conventional touchscreens in favor of gestures made in the air.
