Chinese automotive brand Lynk & Co has unveiled a new electric car, the Lynk & Co 20, with a starting price of around €15,000 in China. Just one hour after sales began, the company received 14,663 confirmed orders.
The car features an 800-volt system, a 329-horsepower motor and a LiDAR sensor, while it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. The Lynk & Co 20 is available with two battery options, with a claimed maximum range of up to 630 km. With fast charging, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in around 12 minutes.
The cabin features a 15.4-inch display, a 23-speaker audio system, wireless charging and automatic parking systems.
The Lynk & Co 20 is being launched at a time when the brand is facing declining sales in its domestic market, so the new model emphasizes a combination of a relatively low price, fast charging, a powerful motor and technological features.
Interest in the model stands out not only because of the number of orders. The car's price is paired with relatively strong technical specifications, while its fast charging and claimed range of up to 630 km show what the new offering is built around.
At the same time, amid declining sales in the brand's domestic market, the new model's successful launch carries greater significance for the company itself. Price, power and technological equipment are presented as a single package, while the number of orders in the first hour shows that this combination has immediately generated strong interest in the market.
