One of the three lions tranquilized at Gagik Tsarukyan's mansion yesterday and transferred to the Yerevan Zoo did not wake up and has died, a source told Azatutyun. The information has not yet been officially confirmed.
Yesterday, within the framework of criminal proceedings initiated by the Kotayk Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee, 190 taxidermied animals, as well as three lions and one tiger, were seized from a mansion belonging to Tsarukyan. These were recognized as material evidence and transported to the Yerevan Zoo.
The Investigative Committee had concluded that illegal hunting caused 30 million AMD in damages to the environment.
Law enforcement authorities have remained silent regarding today's incident, and no official clarification has yet been provided.
