Russian President Vladimir Putin has awarded an honorary title to the famous singer Mikhail Shufutinsky. The decree on state awards was officially published on September 5, but the head of state signed it on September 3.

Shufutinsky, a Soviet and Russian pop singer, chanson performer, and producer, grew up in Moscow and studied at a music college, where Alla Pugacheva was also a student. Throughout his career, he worked in various ensembles, performed in restaurants in Magadan, and directed the popular band "Leisya, Pesnya." In 1981, the singer moved to the United States, where he continued his musical activities, and returned to Russia in 2003. He has repeatedly received the prestigious "Chanson of the Year" award.

The singer's most famous and beloved song is "The 3rd of September," which was first performed in 1993. The music was composed by Igor Krutoy, and the lyrics were written by Igor Nikolayev.

Receiving a high state title is a significant event for any artist, but in this case, the date the decree was signed is particularly noteworthy. The choice of September 3 is a clear nod to the singer's most famous hit, adding a special point of interest to the news.

This shows how a single song created over time has become a cultural phenomenon, influencing even the timing of official decision-making. Shufutinsky's long-standing merits and the people's love were evident long ago, and this step simply officially consolidated his place in Russian pop music.
