A social media user has raised the alarm that fruit treated with the dangerous insecticide "dichlafos" is being sold in central Yerevan.
The Food Safety Inspection Authority said it has followed up on the alert and that inspections will be carried out in connection with the case.
At this point, only the content of the alert is known about the case, along with the fact that the Food Safety Inspection Authority has initiated proceedings. Therefore, a final assessment must await the results of the inspections, which will show whether the substance in question was actually used on the fruit being sold and what condition the product was in.
