On September 26 at 2:13 a.m., the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Operational Management Center received a report that shots had been fired into the air from a gas pistol near one of the restaurants on Dzorap Street. Police Guard officers took the necessary measures.

It was established that at around 1:47 a.m. that same night, two young men — a 22-year-old Yerevan resident and a 19-year-old resident of Vayots Dzor Province — had fired shots from a gas pistol from a Jaguar vehicle.

Both young men were found at the scene. They were arrested on reasonable suspicion of having committed hooliganism and taken to the Central Division of the Community Police.

The description of the incident shows that police responded to the report and identified those involved in the shooting within a short period of time. A key circumstance is not only that the shots were fired in a public place, but also that law enforcement treated the incident as involving reasonable suspicion of hooliganism, on the basis of which the two young men were arrested.

At this stage, the published information concerns the grounds for the arrests and the circumstances of the incident. The report contains no other details, including information about the subsequent legal proceedings or any possible damage, so no conclusions can be drawn regarding those matters.
