Azerbaijan’s Baku Court for Grave Crimes has sentenced Ramiz Mehdiyev, former head of President Ilham Aliyev’s administration, to 14 years in prison on several charges, including high treason. However, given Mehdiyev’s age of 87 and serious health condition, the court decided to suspend the sentence.
