The company Pangram has conducted a study on the use of artificial intelligence (AI) on social media. Researchers analyzed over 1 million posts across LinkedIn, Medium, Substack, X (Twitter), and Reddit.

The study revealed that AI-generated content is prevalent in long-form texts. Approximately 26% of posts exceeding 250 words were written entirely by AI.

LinkedIn emerged as the leader in this metric, with over 40% of long-form posts created using AI. Overall, LinkedIn accounts for 62% of the AI-generated content studied.

The influence of AI is also significant on X (Twitter), where half of the long-form posts are either partially or entirely created with the help of AI.

In contrast, Reddit has the lowest volume of AI content. Researchers note that 98% of the platform's comments are written by humans. However, the use of AI in individual Reddit posts is frequent, which indicates potential shortcomings in moderation.

Substack has proven to be an exception, as the amount of AI-written text there does not depend on the length of the publication.
