US President Donald Trump has declared that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to everyone. He wrote about this on the Truth Social platform. According to Trump, the strait will remain open, with or without Iran's participation.

The US is reinstating a blockade on Iran. It will apply only to Iranian vessels and their clients. Other countries will continue to use the strait freely. Trump emphasized that the United States will henceforth be the "guardian of the Strait of Hormuz."

The US also plans to collect compensation for ensuring security in the strait, which will amount to 20 percent of shipping costs. According to Trump, this process will begin immediately.
