Gohar Meloyan, a representative of the 'Strong Armenia' party, has resigned her mandate, reports Aravot.
Meloyan stated that she has submitted a withdrawal application to the Central Electoral Commission. She explained her decision by citing a new phase of political struggle.
She will remain a member of the party's council. In the near future, Meloyan intends to focus on the institutional development of the party. She also plans to engage in the oversight of electoral processes.
One of the key areas of Meloyan's work will be providing legal defense for individuals persecuted on political grounds. She will also work on public accountability and addressing socio-economic issues.
Meloyan emphasized that she will continue to support party leader Samvel Karapetyan and her teammates. She expressed her gratitude to those who have supported her.
According to Meloyan, 'Strong Armenia' will continue its parliamentary and extra-parliamentary activities. She considers her latest move a responsible decision.
