Gagik Tsarukyan was escorted by police to the Investigative Committee today for investigative procedures, reports Azatutyun. His supporters and employees have gathered outside the building.
Attorney Erem Sargsyan told reporters that Tsarukyan is being questioned in connection with a fraud and money laundering case. Businessman Gagik Tsarukyan was arrested on July 7. He is accused of large-scale fraud and money laundering. The defense team considers these charges groundless.
Law enforcement officials have also sealed several companies belonging to the Tsarukyan family. These enterprises are among the list of Armenia's major taxpayers.
