A tragic incident occurred in the Ararat region, where a two-year-old girl accidentally fell into a partially lit tandoor in the tandoor room of her home.
The incident was recorded on September 13, at around 9:15 p.m. The child was immediately taken to the "Artashat" Medical Center, where doctors diagnosed her with burns of varying degrees on her face, left hand, and both feet.
At around 10:00 p.m., a call was received at the Artashat police department from the hospital regarding the incident. An operational team went to the medical center and identified the injured little girl. The materials compiled regarding the incident have already been transferred to the Ararat Regional Investigative Department of Armenia's Investigative Committee.
Such domestic accidents, unfortunately, are not rare in rural communities, where traditional tandoors are often used without additional safety barriers. In the case of small children, a momentary lapse in attention can have serious consequences, so such incidents once again remind us of the need for stricter supervision in home conditions.
The investigative authorities' further actions will show whether what happened was a mere accident or whether there was a failure of parental duties.
