More than 100 representatives from various public sectors have issued a statement in support of Gagik Tsarukyan. Iveta Tonoyan announced this on her Facebook page.
The authors of the statement express their indignation regarding the pressures being exerted against Tsarukyan. They note that for years, Gagik Tsarukyan has supported sports, education, culture, and the church. According to the statement, the persecution against him is unjust and indicative of a serious crisis in the country.
The document also mentions that the suspension of existing business operations harms the national economy. As a result, thousands of people are left without work. The authors of the statement demand an immediate halt to these actions, characterizing them as a gross violation of human rights.
Numerous figures from the fields of art, science, sports, and civil society have signed the statement in his defense. Among them are Martin Vardazaryan, Hrant Tokhatyan, Gurgen Melikyan, Shushan Petrosyan, Nazeni Hovhannisyan, and others.
