Human rights lawyer Siranush Sahakyan has announced a significant update, stating that they will appeal to the European Court of Human Rights once the verdict in Ruben Vardanyan's case is received.
The human rights defender outlined the main points of their complaint. They will argue that the charges brought against Vardanyan are politically motivated. Additionally, they will emphasize that the trial failed to meet the standards of a fair trial.
Meanwhile, the ECHR has obligated Azerbaijan to take specific steps. Azerbaijan must submit the court verdicts of 15 Armenian prisoners of war to the court by August 31.
