Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has filed a lawsuit against his former teammate, ex-MP Sofia Hovsepyan. He is demanding a formal retraction and a public apology. The lawsuit stems from an interview Hovsepyan gave to the "Hraparak" news outlet.

Pashinyan is demanding that Hovsepyan publicly apologize for using the word "scum" (takanq). The apology must be published on the same news website and on her Facebook page.

The Prime Minister considers the former MP's remarks regarding the "rigging" of election results to be defamatory. He also insists that Hovsepyan must retract her statements. According to the lawsuit, Hovsepyan must write that her claims are false and defamatory toward the Prime Minister.

Regarding financial compensation, Pashinyan is seeking 2 million drams for the insult and an additional 4 million drams for defamation, totaling 6 million drams.

The lawsuit was filed with the Shirak Region Court of General Jurisdiction on July 9. The case will be presided over by Judge Lilit Khachatryan.
