Iravaban.net — The Prosecutor General's Office has confirmed the indictment in the criminal case involving the Catholicos of All Armenians and six bishops of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin and has sent it to court. The clergy involved in the case include Bishop Makar Hakobyan, Bishop Hovnan Hakobyan, Archbishop Nathan Hovhannisyan, as well as Archbishop Haykazun Najaryan, Bishop Mushegh Babayan, and Bishop Vahan Hovhannisyan. A travel ban has been imposed on these individuals as a preventive measure.
Criminal proceedings were initiated based on charges of obstructing the execution of a judicial act in the case of the former Primate of the Diocese of Masyatsotn, Bishop Gevorg Saroyan. Within the framework of the same case, a similar restriction—a ban on leaving the territory of the Republic of Armenia—has also been imposed on the Catholicos of All Armenians, Garegin II. The case will be heard at the Armavir Region Court of General Jurisdiction. The hearings will be presided over by Judge Hakob Manukyan.
