Hetq — The Investigative Committee is currently conducting investigative actions at the private residence of Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia alliance. Committee spokesperson Kima Avdalyan confirmed the information, noting that the actions are being carried out within the framework of ongoing criminal proceedings. Prior to this, Member of Parliament Marianna Ghahramanyan had expressed her concern on social media, claiming that illegal persecutions against the political force are continuing.
Although the official body has not provided additional information regarding the grounds for the search, according to available information, the case is linked to Alik Aleksanyan, a member of Strong Armenia. Back in early June, investigators announced that Aleksanyan was the founder and head of the "Preservation of National Values in Our Way" non-governmental organization. According to the investigation, between 2025 and 2026, the organization opened offices in various regions of Armenia and hired approximately 1,400 citizens under formal contracts for the purpose of participating in protests.
Law enforcement officials claim that these employment relationships were a facade, and the real objective was to recruit participants for gatherings. At this time, criminal prosecution has been initiated against Alik Aleksanyan. He has been charged with financially inducing people to participate in gatherings, as well as money laundering on an especially large scale.
