Community police officers in Tashir found 233 grams of marijuana and homemade devices adapted for drug use at the home of a 58-year-old resident of Dzoramut village. According to operational information, the man was growing cannabis, as well as producing and using drugs.
Following operational and investigative measures, police checked the information and confirmed it. During a search conducted as part of criminal proceedings, the drugs were found in the man's basement.
Another case was uncovered by officers of the Baghramyan community police. After checking information that a resident of Karakert village was in possession of drugs, officers inspected a semi-finished building adjacent to the home of a 47-year-old man as part of criminal proceedings.
There, police found containers and packages containing a total of 510 grams of marijuana, as well as 675 grams of dried cannabis. Preliminary investigations are underway in both cases.
Both cases show that information about not only cannabis cultivation but also the storage of finished substances is important in uncovering drug-related offenses. The marijuana found in Tashir weighed 233 grams, while the search in Baghramyan yielded 510 grams of marijuana and an additional 675 grams of dried cannabis.
However, the quantities of the substances found do not, in themselves, answer all the legal questions. Preliminary investigations are continuing in both cases, and further proceedings must establish the circumstances based on the facts of each case. Until then, it is important to distinguish between the items and substances discovered by police and the final legal assessment, which will depend on the outcome of the proceedings.
