To mark the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence, Niagara Falls will be lit in the colors of the Armenian flag on September 21. The illumination will be switched on at 10:00 p.m.
The Armenian Embassy in Canada announced this, inviting everyone interested to attend this symbolic event.
On the same day, the Armenian flag will be raised in front of Ottawa City Hall, and the Ottawa Sign will also be illuminated in the colors of the Armenian flag.
The illumination of Niagara Falls on September 21 will create broader-than-usual visibility around the anniversary of Armenia's independence in Canada. The color scheme at this globally recognized site becomes visible not only to the Armenian community but also to tourists and locals, and it is one indicator of the attention Canadian municipal authorities give to relations with Armenia.
The flag raising and the illumination of the city sign in Ottawa make the event a capital-level occasion on the same day.
