A 2-year-old boy has died from injuries sustained after falling from a window in a residential building in the Taron district of Vanadzor.
On August 29, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the child accidentally opened the protective screen on a third-floor window and fell. He was rushed to the Vanadzor Medical Center in critical condition, where doctors did everything possible to stabilize him.
Unfortunately, the child's condition was extremely severe and his injuries were incompatible with life. On the same day, he was transported by air ambulance to a specialized hospital in Yerevan.
In the Yerevan hospital, doctors fought for the child's life, but on August 30, one day after the fall, they were unable to save 2-year-old N.A.
In connection with the incident, the Lori Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings to clarify all the circumstances of the tragedy.
This tragedy once again highlights how vulnerable young children are around high-rise windows and that even installed protective screens are not always a full guarantee of safety if they are not properly secured or if a child is left unattended. In reality, such incidents often occur in a matter of seconds when parents are distracted, leading to catastrophic consequences. Therefore, especially in summer when windows are kept open, it is essential to double-check the security of screens and never leave a child alone in a room with an open window. It is hoped that the investigation will thoroughly clarify all the circumstances of the case so that appropriate conclusions can be drawn by both parents and local authorities to prevent similar occurrences.
