The story of the board games created by Davit Hovhannisyan began in a small garage next to his home. While still students, Davit and his friends created educational games, and as orders increased, they decided to expand the business.
Today, Hol creates entertainment and intellectual games for different age groups. The Armenian-made games develop language skills, communication abilities, attention, orientation skills, logic and understanding of the world.
Acba Bank became the company’s development partner, supporting Davit in first expanding and then technically upgrading the business. The cooperation began when the company received a large order but did not have sufficient funds to produce the required number of games.
“Our mission is to create offline games that give people the opportunity to communicate with each other in real time. Our next mission is to build parent-child connections through games,” said Davit Hovhannisyan, founder of Hol board games.
In addition to its cooperation with Acba, Hol’s products are also displayed at some of the bank’s branches. The company now produces more than 50 games for different age groups.
Hol’s next goal is to export its games. Davit and his team see the next opportunity for growth in entering international markets.
What stands out in Hol’s story is not only the growth of the business, but also how the company’s mission has evolved. Initially, the focus was on creating educational games, while today the stated goal is to create offline games that enable real-life communication and use them to strengthen parent-child connections. This approach presents the products not only as a form of entertainment, but also as a tool for communication.
At the same time, the company’s next stage of development is linked to moving beyond Armenia’s borders. The export goal is still at the planning stage, and the material does not specify which markets or within what timeframe this is expected to happen. For this reason, the most important next chapter in Hol’s current story will be how this potential turns into international sales.
